]]><![CDATA[leading figure of the early band movement in Belfast]]>Mon, 28 Mar 2016 14:50:54 GMThttp://www.brassbandsireland.org/latest/leading-figure-of-the-early-band-movement-in-belfastThis is a wonderful find as it links John McCoy to the Agnes Street Temperance Silver Band, the Belfast Temperance Brass Band and the IOR Rescue tent band - a descendant of the Belfast Temperance Band.  

There's also reference Kennedy's Mills Band, a new discovery for the list of bands.

According to the 1901 Census records, McCoy lived in 104 Ravenhill Road and was married to  Mary McCoy.  The 1911 records show that they had moved to Napier Street, Belfast.
