The following list of players participated in Agnes Street Temperance Silver Band's winning performance at the British Open Spring Festival (Senior Cup) in 1955 at Belle Vue. The test piece was Thames Valley Suite by Henry Geehl, arr. by Frank Wright. Thanks to Tony Malone for providing this list of names. Comments and corrections welcome!
This is a wonderful find as it links John McCoy to the Agnes Street Temperance Silver Band, the Belfast Temperance Brass Band and the IOR Rescue tent band - a descendant of the Belfast Temperance Band.
There's also reference Kennedy's Mills Band, a new discovery for the list of bands. According to the 1901 Census records, McCoy lived in 104 Ravenhill Road and was married to Mary McCoy. The 1911 records show that they had moved to Napier Street, Belfast. 33 more bands added to the map:
